Put Out The Fire

Put Out The Fire by Greater Vision

John the Baptist at the Jordan preached the coming of the Lord
Baptizing everyone who would believe
Among the crowd that gathered, they’re a watching from the shore
I’d imagine there were scribes and Pharisees
I can see John pointing toward Jerusalem that day, to the place of temple sacrifice
Saying through the years those lambs have never washed our sins away
But hope is here, behold the Lamb of God

-Chorus-
Put out the fire, here comes the glory
Your sacrifice is not as worthy
He’s come to die, to make us holy
We’ve found the perfect lamb
Put out the fire

The smoke up at the temple sent a message to the world, that every sin of man would have a price
Daily as the priest prepared an offering for the Lord, the purist of all lambs would have to die
But when John saw the promise walking down ol’ Jordan’s banks
The answer to the cries of all the lost
He knew up at the temple, things were soon about the change, the altar would forever be the cross

-Chorus-

He was prophesied to rise out of the seed of Abraham
Coming by a virgin down in lowly Bethlehem
The one who angels worshipped since before the world began
Has stepped into the Jordan as the spotless lamb

-Chorus x2-

Your sacrifice is not as worthy
We’ve found the perfect lamb, put out the fire
We’ve found the perfect lamb, we’ve found the Great I Am
We’ve found the perfect lamb
Put out the fire

He Lifted Me Lyrics

He Lifted Me by Greater Vision

He lifted me out of the lonely depths of sins
He lifted me with a love that knows no end
He took my hand pulled me out of the sinking sand
Gave new life that never ends
I’m so glad that Jesus came and lifted me

Fighting alone in the battle struggling through each day
Searching for means of survival but none was on the way
But then the merciful hand of Jesus came beckoning from above
And the moment that I trusted him he filled me with his love

-Chorus-

Looking back over the wonders I’ve seen along the way
I’ve been touched by his power I’ve been blessed in many ways
But nothing will ever compare to the blessing I received
That day my name was added to the list of the redeemed

-Chorus x2-

He took my hand pulled me out of the sinking sand
Gave new life that never ends
I’m so glad that Jesus came and lifted me

City That’s Coming Down by GV

City That’s Coming Down by Greater Vision

I’m not looking for a city going up
But the one that’s coming down
Well, man has made a lot of things they look so fine,
They’re building so high up in the sky
They will almost baffle your mind
But the time’s going to turn, they’re all going to burn
Nowhere will be found
I’m going to be in that city
That John saw coming down

-Chorus-
I’m not looking for a city that’s going up
But the one that’s coming down
I’m not putting my trust in the one that will crumble And fall down to the ground
But, I’m heading for the one that the Lord has made And is built eternally sound
I’m not looking for a city going up
But the one that’s coming down
Well, get your things together
And walk out through the land
You’re going to go on the Rocky Mountains
You’re going to cross on the desert sand
Well, Lot went down to Sodom, but not old Abraham
He was looking for that city
That John saw coming down

-Chorus-
I’m not looking for a city going up
I’m not looking for a city going up
But the one that’s coming down
Well that’s New York City, Chicago
Atlanta and Baltimore
That’s Nashville and Tallahassee
You could name them by the score
I don’t have a big investment
No mansion way up town
But I’ve got one in that city
That John saw coming down

-Chorus-

I’m not looking for a city going up
But the one that’s coming down
I’m not looking for a city going up
But the one that’s coming down
The one that’s coming down

-Chorus-

I’m not looking for a city going up
But the one that’s coming down
I’m not looking for a city going up
But the one that’s coming down
The one that’s coming down

Plain Ol’ Everyday People

Plain Ol’ Everyday People by Greater Vision

He pushed his boat way out into the water ready to fish today like every other
When he heard a voice saying, “Peter, come follow me”
He turned around to see who was speaking it was the holy humble Galilean
Looking for a volunteer to help a blinded heart to see

-Chorus-
God uses plain ol’ everyday people
To help folks find their way toward the steeple
So they can come receive forgiveness for every sin
So, if you are an everyday person, He has a job, and only you can work it
For plain ol’ everyday people there’s a crown to win

Moses led some sheep across the desert, his only task was keeping them together
When he heard a voice say, “You’re standing on holy ground”
He turned aside to see who was a talkin
He recognized the voice of God the Father
Say, “I’m looking for a shepherd to come and lead my people out”
Now, you may think that you are not important
That God doesn’t need a thing you have to offer
But, if you are his child, He has something very special for you to do
Trust Him and you’ll find the strength and wisdom
To lead others on into His kingdom
Right where you are is where He wants to use you

-Chorus x2-
Aren’t ya glad for everyday people there’s a crown to win
For plain ol’ everyday people there’s a crown to win

My Name IS Lazarus by GV

My Name Is Lazarus by Greater Vision

One day, four men brought a crippled man to Jesus, still and lifeless, he lay upon his bed
He had not moved since he was just a baby, still he longed to become a normal man
Now we don’t know much about the men that carried, the corners of his tattered bed that day
But if we may create an illustration, we’ll see what these men might have had to say

Suppose that first man said, “I hate to doubt it for Jesus touched my eyes when I was blind
He made me see and there’s no doubt about it but this man’s needs are more serious than mine”

Suppose that second man said, “No need to bother this man’s condition will remain the same
Though Jesus touched my hand when it was withered I don’t believe He can heal a man so lame”

Suppose that third man said, “I hate to question but no one here is more skeptical than me
Though Jesus cleansed me when I was a leper this helpless man will never walk, you see”

Then every eye was turned to the fourth man to see how he might criticize and doubt
But all three men were startled with amazement
When that fourth man stopped and said his name out loud
-2 Times-
He said, “My name is Lazarus, could I testify? My name is Lazarus, it feels good to be alive
When I in chains of death was bound this man named Jesus called me out
If you think your little problem is too big for Him to solve
Take it from the one who’s heard the mighty voice of God
A living testimony of His death-defying touch, my name is Lazarus

A living testimony of His death-defying touch, my name is Lazarus
My name is Lazarus

He’d Still Been God by GV

He’d Still Been God by Greater Vision

Master, carest Thou not that we perish? Can’t You see that we’re about to die?
This boat we’re on is surely going under, save us now, His disciples cried
So Jesus rose to stand against the tempest, knowing His disciples had no faith
Just to prove that He was still the Master, He spoke and the wind and seas obeyed
-Chorus 1-
But He’d still been God, even if He’d never calmed a storm on a raging sea
He’d still been God, even if He’d never caused a blinded eye to see
He’d still been God, even if He’d never brought a crippled man to his feet
It’s not about what He did, it’s all about who He was
‘Cause even if He’d never come and done a single miracle, then Jesus woulda still been God

Mary was His loving, earthly mother, she understood the purpose of her Son
Ever since the angel’d come and told her, this child is the blessed Son of God
So when she’d see the people gather ’round Him watching for a miracle to prove
That He would be their One and great Messiah she just smiled ’cause she already knew
-Chorus 1-

-Chorus 2-
He’d still been God, even if He’d never calmed a storm on a raging sea
He’d still been God, even if He’d never caused a blinded eye to see
He’d still been God, even if He’d never brought a crippled man to his feet
‘Cause even if He’d never come and done a single miracle, then Jesus woulda still been God
-Chorus 1-
Even if He’d never come and done a single miracle
Then Jesus woulda still been God
