Little More Jesus by TaRanda Greene

Little More Jesus by TaRanda Greene

I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus)
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus)
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), to help me along the way
I need just a little more Jesus, (I need just a little more Jesus) hey hey hey
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), mmmm
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), to help me along the way
Oh, help me, come on sir, anybody need him, heyyy

I got too mad, and I said too much, I went too far, and I almost cussed
No, my mama didn’t raise me that way, Lord I need a little help today
I’m way too sad, and I cry too long, I can’t keep saying everything is wrong
Yes my life seems way too hard, but ain’t nothin too hard for God

Said, I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), hey
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), oh
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), oh, to help me along the way
Yeah, I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), yeah
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), oh hey
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), oh, to help me along the way
Heyyy

Problems at work and problems at home, won’t everybody just leave me alone
I can’t fix you cause I’m trying to fix me, I’m trying to find help so I’m on my knees
Got an ache right here, a pain right there, not enough courage, need a way more prayer
Seems like its so hard to pray, I guess that’s why I lost my way

Said I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), yeah
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), oh Lord
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), yes I do, to help me along the way
I said now, I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), yeah
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), oh Lord now
I need just a little more Jesus (I need just a little more Jesus), oh, to help me along the way
I need you to help me along the way, along the way, hey

All I Need

All I Need by TaRanda Greene

I have walked through the wilderness, lost and afraid
My faith has been tested and tried
Just like your mercies are new everyday
I have found every need satisfied, and…

-Chorus-
All that I need, Lord you’re able
To supply all my needs from your table
And even when I can’t see
Lord, you make provision for me
You are all I need

I have found in your promises, strength for each day
And your word is a lamp to my feet
I felt your forgiveness, then covered by Grace
Lord, you’ve showered your blessings on me, and…

-Chorus-

When I am hungry, whenever I thirst
And when I’m alone and afraid
Oh, I always know, that for better or worse
You hold up and the way has been made

-Chorus-

You are all I need
Oh, you are all I need

Stronger by TaRanda Greene Review

Stowtown Records added one of the most natural fluent southern gospel singer I’ve heard. And it was a great match indeed. Stronger by TaRanda Greene was released this November on the 10th. This album was a part of her testament of when she lost her husband, Tony, and how she is stronger, and how God helped her through her darkest days.

*Little More Jesus– This one has to be one of my favorites. A black gospel song, penned by Tina, Erica, and Warryn Campbell, its one of those free will gospel songs I could listen to over and over.  While a little repetitive, it’s great at reminding that yes, things will go wrong, but Jesus is the answer. An upbeat tune that keeps you swinging a long, its one of my favs.

*Where Amazing Happens– Is another one of those songs where the true message of the song is accentuated, telling how things can change. The warm tone in her voice builds up as the song goes on, making your heart flutter. This song could be a big hit for her, and I am glad they decided to put this one on the track.

*Shackles– A Pentecostal song that keeps you tapping your foot, belting along, this song was my favorite when I first bought this CD. This is a song you could play at an ice skating rink, and everyone would be bopping along. One of my favorite lines…”Through the fire and rain, bound in every kind of way, but God has broken every chain, so let me go right now”

*Stronger– While this is the title track, I didn’t find it as compelling or exciting as the others listed above. I love TaRanda’s voice leading the soft piano behind her, and the lyrics are inspirational, but I feel like it’s a little stale for the big voice TaRanda has. I love hearing her belt out those high notes, and I love the warmth this song brings, I just thought there were better songs on the CD.

*Awake my Soul– Of all the songs on the CD, this one, sadly, is not my favorite. It’s probably my least favorite. A song that was penned by Randy Phillips of Phillips, Craig & Dean. While the lyrics of this song are well written and thought out, I didn’t think it complimented TaRanda’s voice like it should. Of course she knocked it out of the park anyhow, just not my favorite.

*Promise– This song is one that retells Jesus leaving the disciples and though it’s an odd one to hear sung by a female, it’s one I could listen to over and over. A nice, smooth gospel song that doesn’t overuse TaRanda’s power momentum behind that amazing voice of hers, you still get that nice taste of soprano moments that make you go… WOW!

*Deepest Praise– One of the darker , solemner songs on the CD, I feel like this one has a special connection with TaRanda- especially her past experiences. One of my favorites, that I can’t help but slowly sway to and sing a long. It’s one that’s perfect for any moment where you’re doubting, where you’re sad, when you need a pick me up.

*Healer– Is one of those I have a love/hate relationship with. It starts out slow and sweet, building but never really satisfying. I found it a bit repetitive, especially near the end, but not one of those where the song itself is enough to keep you entertained. The lyrics are phenomenal, and a CD must have different sounds, but this one personally connect with me and I don’t find myself listening to it on repeat.

*All I Need– On the other hand is phenomenal. A song that starts out in one key, then switches to a different key for the chorus. A song that is worthy of worshiping the Lord and is very classy. One that definitely showcases TaRanda’s powerful voice backed by a choir. A song you can’t help but take the lyrics to heart, talking about the graces of our wonderful Lord.

*The Sound- Yankee Gospel Girl says it wonderfully: “William Murphy cover “The Sound” is an exciting, power-packed closer to wake the listener up. The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is essentially carrying the song behind Taranda while she improvises. Another soloist shares the spotlight with her for a verse. I like it when Taranda gets her Whitney Houston on. Once she locks onto the tune, you’re just along for the ride.”

*Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain– A classic Willie Nelson song that TaRanda made her own. At first I didn’t think I would like this because- I mean come on, a Willie Nelson song, surely no one could remake his own amazing song? But I love her rendition- one that most of us will recognize and be able to sing along.

*If I Could– Is one she dedicated to her daughter’s, one that I believe they will cherish forever. TaRanda had a big reputation to compete with as many other artist’s, such as: Regina Belle, to Barbara Streisand, to Celine Dion. But in my opinion, she trumps all.

Overall: I give this CD a 9.5/10, I love this CD, even the songs I don’t care for were executed beautifully whether I agree that they were the best sound for T’s voice or not.

Hope y’all enjoy the CD!

Where Amazing Happens

Where Amazing Happens by TaRanda Greene

Standing on the edge, of loosing everything
You’re out of options, out of hope, you’ve lost your way
Your happy ever after, didn’t turn out like you planned
Searching for a solid place to stand
Looking at the ashes of what could’ve been
You can’t help wondering if you finally reached the end
Yet in this place of weakness is where miracles begin
Watch and see the dead can live again

-Chorus-
This is where amazing happens, this is where God steps in
This is the place, where broken dreams can live again
When you’re to the end of hope
Nowhere else for you to go
Welcome to the place of second chances
This is where amazing happens

Dawn can never come, unless there’s been a night
Healing cannot come, without a ruined life
And mercy’s only given to the ones who’ve made mistakes
And only shattered lives see saving Grace

-Chorus-

Oh and nothings ever found, unless it first was lost
There’s not a resurrection, without there is a cross

-Chorus-

Oh, Oh, Oh

When you’re to the end of hope, nowhere else for you to go (Oh)
Welcome to the place of second chances
This is where amazing happens, this is where amazing happens
Oh, this is where God steps in
This is where amazing happens
